Co-Owners
With nearly five decades of flooring industry experience, Don Roberts co-owns Central Alabama Flooring, operating under the Don's Carpet One Floor & Home and Wheat's Carpet One Floor & Home brands. Having worked on both the retail and manufacturing sides of the industry, Don has managed teams of all sizes, always putting exceptional customer service first. He is committed to creating a welcoming shopping experience for customers seeking flooring, cabinets, countertops, and more. Outside of work, Don and his wife Toni love spending time with their two children, Taylor and Chase, and their six grandchildren.
General Manager
Angie brings over 21 years of experience in the flooring industry to her role as General Manager at Don's Carpet One. She has a strong background in sales and management, and she's a Marketing graduate from Auburn University at Montgomery. Angie is passionate about ensuring every client has the best possible experience when shopping for flooring, cabinets, and blinds. She lives in Trussville with her husband and two children.
Owner, Builder and Commercial Sales
Ellen has been a key part of the Don's Carpet One team for over 20 years, specializing in builder and commercial sales. Working primarily in outside sales, Ellen is available by appointment to assist with flooring and decorating needs for remodeling and building projects of all sizes.
Retail Sales & Installer
Dondi Howell grew up surrounded by the flooring industry and has spent 42 years working as an installer, in retail sales, and in management. A student of Architectural Design at Auburn University, Dondi brings a strong technical foundation to every project. Outside of work, he enjoys time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, and is an active member of the Smokey City Model Rails Railroad Club.
Interior Designer & Retail and Construction Specialist
Melinda Hedrick has been with Don's Carpet One for over 26 years and brings more than 35 years of design experience to her work. Growing up in a family of builders, she has a deep passion for working with clients from the ground up to bring their home design visions to life. Melinda specializes in all areas of flooring, as well as kitchen and bath remodels.
Interior Designer, Retail, & Construction Specialist
Edward Ash is a seasoned interior designer with over 30 years of experience, having graduated from Southern Institute in 1994. Edward is passionate about working closely with clients to create beautiful, functional spaces that they truly love. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking and spending time with his dogs.
Commercial Sales & Project Manager
Jacob's passion for flooring runs deep. Growing up in a flooring family in Tuscaloosa, he learned the trade from the ground up and spent over 20 years honing his expertise. Today, he specializes in commercial sales and project management, working closely with clients, contractors, and design teams to deliver projects efficiently and on budget. His hands-on background means he approaches every job with practical insight, clear communication, and an unwavering commitment to doing things right.

With 31 years of experience in the flooring industry, Keith has built a distinguished career with Don's Carpet One and Central Alabama Flooring. Lead Cabinet Designer, Kiba Studios
Don's journey in cabinetry spans an impressive 50 years, beginning at his family's custom cabinet business. In 2011, he joined Don's Carpet One to establish and lead its cabinet department, bringing decades of craftsmanship and expertise. Over the years, Don has designed award-winning spaces for Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medal winners in the Greater Birmingham Parade of Homes, and today works on projects ranging from simple remodels to luxury homes in the multi-million-dollar range.
Administrative Assistant
Natasha is an administrative assistant, photographer, and avid traveler who loves discovering new cultures and capturing the world's beauty through her camera lens. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring new destinations and sharing meaningful experiences with her husband, Peter.
Retail Sales & Residential Interior Designer
Carrie is a Residential Interior Designer with a passion for finding the perfect products and materials to create beautiful, cohesive, and functional spaces. When she's not helping clients bring their vision to life, you'll find her exploring the great outdoors with her husband and two rescue dogs.
